Product Introduction
To produce hydrogen from coal, the process of coal gasification for hydrogen production begins with partial oxidation, which means some air is added to the coal, which generates carbon dioxide gas through traditional combustion. Carbon monoxide in the gas stream is now further reacted with steam, generating hydrogen and carbon dioxide.
Product Feature
The coal gasification process is used in the commercial production of synthetic gas as a means of clean use of coal. The conversion of solid coal into a gaseous phase creates opportunities to produce more energy forms than electricity (which is the case in coal combustion systems) and to separate CO2 in an effective manner for sequestration.
